Our first brick was laid in June, 1980, when a group of religious
and community leaders created the INTERFAITH JUSTICE AND
PEACE CENTER to server as the focus for coalescing awareness
and action in Northwest Ohio around major international, national,
and local peace and justice issues. We have always been an
interfaith organization, independent of any one denomination.
Over the years, IJPC has worked with major peace movements,
including nuclear disarmament, fostering peace between citizens
of Russia and the USA during the Cold War and continuing that
tradition with Iraqi and US citizens today. IJPC has always sought
to provide a forum for education and advocacy and early on
created and published Linkages, a monthly newsletter reporting
and examining social justice events, thoughts, and policies.
Linkages also includes a monthly calendar of events in the area.
In 2005, IJPC celebrated it's 25th anniversary.
